Beyond the Canvas
We’re very excited to announce the launch of our new project, Beyond the Canvas!
Using expressive art to share stories and express resilience, the project is aimed at ethnic minority women who have faced mental health stigma or discrimination.
Together we will break down barriers and empower inclusion, one brushstroke at a time!
The artwork will be celebrated with an exhibition at Byres Community Hub!
Empower Women for Change is a Black and Ethnic Minority women-led community organisation, established in 2015, in response to the growing needs of the diverse women in Scotland. Gaps in support were identified in relation to the empowerment and advancement of women’s rights and active participation in all aspects of civil, economic and political settings. We aim to nurture leadership skills and promote active citizenship among women in response to the increasing needs of women in Scotland concerning empowerment, equality, rights, and participation in civic, social, economic, and political aspects.
